Barbarian X's thread on his Kingdom Armory customized Seb lit a fire in me so I called Dave and am presently waiting for a call back.

I intend to have my Seb customized in a similar manner to his with regard to the texturing of the scales and the DB thumbstuds but my question has to do with annodizing. Does anyone have any experience with this process?

I'm concerned with durability. I have an old BM 940 with an annodized spine and the color is so faded you can barely tell what it is compared to my new one which is vibrant purple.

What I would really like is to have it heat treated. I've seen a few like that and the colors are amazing; but I don't know if they will do that or not.

Any thoughts comments or ideas would be appreciated. I'm really exited about this.

It won't last! good thing is as it scuffs and wears away you can b blast it or sand it backt to normal :D

I assume you mean the annodizing? I would imagine the heat treat would last longer.

Any "high traffic" areas will have the finish rub off eventually, weather it be anodised or heat coloured.

I had a small with the annodizing, unfortunately the small was to small so I sold it before I really got the chance to carry it much.

There's others besides Kingdom Armory doing grinding and anodizing.
