I'm cruising thru Ebay gulping down my second martini and I came across this. I can't give link right now so I'll give the item number 6521278242. Found this under BM knives. I think my question is. Is this the real deal. Did anybody ever see something like this.

pretty sure someone just took the spike

smashed up the edges for effect and slapped on the wood

The "hammered" effect tooks too good for that. And the scales aren't wood, they're some sort of metal, probably aluminum, overlaid with ostrich skin. Not my cup 'o tea, but certainly unique.

I know that guy, bought several knives from him. Dunno where he gets 'em from, but he comes up with all sorts of strange knives. Couple weeks ago, he was selling a Swiss Army One-Hand Trekker (one of my faves) with custom scales made from rosewood with leather inserts. Very sweet.

If that started life as a BM Boguszewski Mini-Spike, the blade has been re-profiled. The BM spikes had an acute but symmetrical blade. This has more of a semi-Wharncliffe. I could do that to a spike, it would probably only cost about 3/8" of blade length.

But whatever it is or isn't, it is not an unaltered factory BM mini-spike blade. The grind looks right for it to have started life as one, though.
