Head to toe, this bad boy is customized to the maxxx.
Here's what it started out as, when it left the factory. Though when I got it, it was just the blade. Flea markets rock, btw.
>"Original Bowie Knife" dremeled out into a crude fuller (years ago, when I first got the blade).
>Etched in Muriatic acid.
>Cut, filed, and torch-blued a simple steel guard.
>Pig femur grip, torched to give it an antique look, wrapped a bit in leather lacing, and shellacked.
>Tang was keyed, and set into the bone with JB Weld. ROCK FRIGGIN SOLID.
>Leather sheath. Saddle-stitched, corners riveted.
>Made initially as an oversize rectangle, then given final shape on a bench grinder.
>Dyed brown, carnauba cream fixative, and hand-rubbed with mink oil.
