I have always loved the Buckmaster 184 knives ever since they came out in the '80's. I happened to score this one receintly from a returning war vet who carried it in Afganistan. It was in pretty used condition, so I thought to myself..."If Buck was still making this knife, what would it look like?".
First I took it to my local guy for a desert tan cerakote on knife and sheath, and safety orange on the pins and lanyard loop. Meanwhile, I planned out the new webbing layout for the sheath, and after a few hours on the sewing machine, it was done. The sheath itself is designed to mount to a MOLLE platform, or by adding the removable and adjustable belt loop you can wear it as a thigh rig by adding a 1.5" legstrap. I also added a MOLLE platform on the front to replace the original pouches. This allowed me to attach the Maxpedition Barnacle for storage of a silva compass, grappling pins, fire starter etc. It came out exactly as I pictured in my head. The only thing left is wrapping the handle with some 550 cord.

Looks like fun. But ... customized is not not Custom & Handmade, so I moved it to Buck Knives. :)
