I thought a few of you might like to see what you can do with a good old basic Camillus TL-29. They clean up real nice!

I took a new TL-29 and removed the screwdriver blade & bolsters.
I gave it long brass bolsters, more like a Barlow.
I did filework up the backspring and continued it onto the blade.
I grooved and crowned the bolsters.
I put on dyed camel bone for handles.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks for looking,
Dale

Thanks Larry & Ivan.

That knife was a trial knife to see if my hands could take it.
I would say my left hand (the one with the last surgery- that was the 12th surgery on the left hand) is back to about 85%.
Not too bad, considering it started at about 50% before the surgery.

The only trouble is I have a problem developing with my right hand & know I will have to have two surgical procedures on it as well before too long. I am going to push it as long as I can before going in for surgery.

But for now I seem to be back in the repair & custom business, for a while anyway.
I hope I can at least get caught up on the backlog of 20+ knives on my bench for customers.

Nice (ex)TL Dale!! Great bolster work!

Nice work. I made allot of them when I was working at camillus. Not like that they had the two blades in them.with the black covers.

Thanks Tom.
It was likely one you made that I used to make my knife.

The TL is one of my favorite patterns to customize. There is a lot you can do with them, because they are well designed & well built with good materials.

Thanks again,
Dale
