The tang was not tapered flat I am affraid
So I figured that thin scales of yew should be able to follow the slight curve of the tang.
The thin scales are glued to the tang and held secure by the leather.
Blade is slightly modifyed with some grinding on the spine.

The sheath needed to have some yew "stiched" on to match the handle.
As can be seen in the pix the belt loop is detachable.

Well this is what I came up with.
What do you think?

Very very nice. That is a fine example of the sheath matching the blade. I like the stitching. How does that find thread hold up? I love the spline of the knife and the different angles at the point.
