Here's some pics of my modified Mini. I'm certain to catch flack for painting the handle, but I wanted a way to easily identify it as my own (my bro. has one as well). The sheath is a custom from JRE and has no loops, etc. as I asked for (they are excellent to work with). This little guy is razor sharp with a 40 deg. edge that gobbles chips like crazy. I use it to rough out bowls and split wrist-sized kindling. Thanks for looking.

I like it.

It's too small of an axe for the paint to "impede/interfere usage"
The only thing I would have done different, I would have kept the bands of colour the same dimensions on both tools..just saying..I guess I'm too picky.

I like it, too. But I'd like to know what the other knives and saw are that are shown in your last photo.

Nice. What is the canvas pad?

The canvas is a pouch-type roll-up bag for the saw (the teeth catch on just about everything) that my girlfriend stiched up for me. It was taken from an old painter's drop cloth that I found.

The other tools are l-R:
Bark River Golock with a Bark River PSK both with natural fiddleback maple
Corona wooden folding saw

Nothing wrong with painting your tools IMO. Makes it easier to see if dropped too. Is there a reason you got an aftermarket sheath? Other one fall apart or did you just not like it?

:thumbup:Very nice assortment, i like the personalization 'paint' it looks good.
Love the mini, i gotta get 1 sooner or later.

Thanks for the nice comments. I got the JRE sheath for the Mini due to my dog's taking an unwelcome interest in the stock sheath when I left it out one day

where did you get the after market sheath? and does it have a belt loop on the back? thats the exact type of sheath i like

It's from JRE industries. It has no loops but they'll make it with a belt loop/firesteel loop or however you'd like it. They are great folks!

well you made your self a set. no doubt who's it is.

I have some friends that make there own wooden arrows and they mark them all the same to I D them when they go pick up arrows after shooting from the target.

Nice touch and good idea:thumbup:

I like the way you've personalized your tools, practical and looks 'right'.

The mask is gorgeous too!

I was going to wrap the handles of my Mini and Wildlife with yellow silicone rescue tape to enhance grip... but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
