Just got off the phone with Santa Fe Stoneworks a few minutes ago. Ordered myself a Kiwi done up with Malachite scales. :D Think the green will go great with the "silver" of the stainless steel. They say a week to make it, and a week to get it to me. Picture to follow when it arrives. Thank you Sal for letting me know Santa Fe did Kiwis. Only one week, 6 days and 23.75 hours to go... Thinking this is gonna be a loooooong two weeks... Anyway, just had to share. :D

Congrats Paul. They do great work. I'm sure it will be a beautiful piece.

The Malachite scales will look great. Here are pearl handled and dinosaur bone handled pieces they also did. They look even better in real life.

Both of yours look great in the picture Rod, but am sure you are right that they look even better when you can touch them too! Somewhere down the line think I'll go for one in dinosaur bone too. That's gotta be the ultimate combination of the old and the new.

Malachite rules!!!
Few stones have as much personality.
Enjoy!
Thanks, I am sure I will love it. One of the firsts knife I ever had when I was a kid was a junky little key chain knife with silvery bolsters and green/black celluloid scales. Lasted about a week. Had not thought about that one for rolling years. Didn't even remember it till after I ordered the Kiwi, but it must have been in the back of my mind somewhere. Then yesterday it popped into my head and could see it in my mind as clear as it was fifty years ago.
