Customized Mini-Barrage

I just got my BM 586 Mini-Barrage and I really like the action however I prefer more of a gentleman's folder style knife, so I decided to make some changes. I've been making knives for several years now so I have some basic skills and the tools to do the changes I'm thinking about.

The first thing I wanted to do was remove the plastic spine and make it a more flow through.

With this mod I'm losing the safety but that's OK with me. Next I plan on making a custom thumb stud and a set of wood scales.

That is pretty sweet. So where did you get those spacers from?

The spacers came from McMaster Carr they are the 1/8 OD 0-80 screw size. You will have to grind they down to fit

Just remove the plastic spine and replace it with the spacer that you grind down to the same thickness as the spine

Phase 2 complete

Handle are Purple hart and notice the new thumb stud. Now I need to make a new pocket clip.

that wood looks really neat. where'd you get a thumbstud like that and did you keep it ambidex?
