my SAK spartan...filework

SOG Seal Pup....filework, satin finish, handle wrap.

Mineral Mountain K-19.....filework, dual finish.

I have refinished my greco wisper folder and have more plans for it, and I also have a factory second SOG feild knife that will see some new handles and filework. Syperco kerambit and ATC brend hatchet also are on deck for mods.

That is outstanding work on the SAK/Pup!how did you do that?I also like what was done with the Kershaw/CRKT.Great job to each.

TheSkinwalkeR,
What type of files do you use? That SAK Looks great !
How long did it take to get it to look like that? It's hard to tell how the others look by the pic's but, If they are anything like the SAK then I'm sure they are awesome. Nice job!

Wow! That Chive must have been tricky. I'd like to see it apart to see how you did that. Very nice.

Here's a few of mine... a trio of Benchmade 814's, from left to right 1: Spalted Maple scales with inset Queensland Opal, open back with standoffs replacing backspacer. 2: Birdseye Maple scales with liner-spine filework, maple backspacer. 3: Thuya Burl scales.

Here's what was a Kershaw Sapphire before some re-shaping, carbon fiber scales, stone washed blade with brass thumbstud, custom spacers:

I love this thread. I thought I was alone with my uncontrollable urge to alter perfectly good knives <g>.

the filework:

The pup was my first attempt, the SAK was my second and the bowie my third. I really enjoy working on my knives and would not be surprised, considering my artistic intrests, that I would start making my own once I have the facilities. Right now I am living in a one-bed apartment do my work on a board on a tv tray... once I have a garage its all over. I just now got a dremel, going to start having fun with that.

These are all very nice! I really like the CF job, and the file work on the others. The SAK even has a classy look.

Oh yeah, I forgot to post mine. I cannot take credit for the work done on this knife. I bought this knife many years ago in Dallas at a pawn shop that I worked at. It came in with a bunch of jewelry. The Schrade has been completely worked. The inside of the lock, liners, new bolsters, and I'm not sure what kind of scales these are. They look almost like ivory.

All nice knives. Won't show you mine. I am still working on it. I do have a carving knife I made. No beauty, just for carving wood. You've all got me inspired tho. :)

Here's a pic of my custom Elishewitz Phantom with the black linen micarta handles I made. Getting the inlay right took longer then making the grips.

Another customized custom.
The Elishewitz Janus originally came with the abalone grips. I made both the black buffalo horn and the burgundy micarta panels shown.

manicreader,
Holy cow! Those Benchmades are really beautiful! Outstanding work my friend!

That Kershaw I did is a Scallion that I carry with me all the time. It was a little tricky though; especially the mortising I did for the torsion bar. I also changed the shape of the handle a little, so I could mount the belt clip for
tip-up carry. :D
