Well, my small left-handed Sebenza was getting a little long in the tooth being made in '99 and then carried in my pocket as my EDC knife since new. So I did a little research and decided I wanted to try a G-10 scale in orange and a Tom Krein regrind (my point was really getting dull and "rounded" from all my sharpenings) to make it a better slicer.
Off it went to Barry H after a couple of emails to him with regards to what I wanted. Those emails were answered promptly as well.....Barry kept in touch with me throughout the process and finished it in no time at all. He even shipped it directly to Tom in Arkansas for me (I am located in Canada) to lesson my down time and avoid extra Customs fees. A very pleasant experience from start to finish!
Once in Arkansas Tom reground my blade to exactly what I wanted and kept me informed of the process throughout as well. My new Sebenza arrived today and words cannot describe how well it turned out. It cuts like a light-saber with the new blade geometry and is lighter and grippier thanks to Barry's G-10 scale.
Thank You Gentlemen for a job well done! I couldn't be happier and recommend them both to all who have been "sitting on the fence" with regards to having these services performed for them. I'll try to post a pic or two when time permits.

cool!!

anyone know how much tom charges to resharpen a knife that has had the regrind done on it?

Very very nice. One day I might get up the guts to have a knife customized, until then I will just have to admire others courage.

Looks great! Thanks for asking me to do your handle!:D

Tom!! Love your new regrind logo:D

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments. The pictures do not do justice to how nice this knife now looks and performs. Barry was able to get me a piece of G-10 that is absolutely perfect in its texture for the "grippiness" I wanted and made an EXACT duplicate of the titanium scale that it replaced. Weight of the knife is now down to 2.8 oz. which for me is a good thing. I don't know how Tom Krein can freehand grind like this....The blade was IMO in poor shape and I wasn't sure anything could be done to bring it back but Tom made it into what is now my best "slicer" and thats saying alot. It is also very pleasing to the eye as he fixed my point which was badly dulled over time and ground a little "swedgy" into the tip as well. Thank You Gentlemen! You guys are truly Masters of your art!! I couldn't be more pleased.
John
Almost forgot....Thanks also to "Scotts Knots" for the matching lanyard!!!
