I was planning on doing some Ray Skin inserts on my SOCOM and decided to try this first.

I cut the inserts out of Ivory Micarta and they are held into place with countersunk 2-56 stainless screws.

The Micarta extends about 1/16th past the surface of the handle which provides and excellent grip and a very cool appearance IMO.

I was happier with the look before I put the screws in but I wanted the scales to be secure.

Overall I'm please with how it came out :D

Looks great! I think the screws actually make it more visually interesting.

Doood!

Nice job!

I like it a lot. I *really* think you made the right choice on this one. Rayskin is cool, but kind of "been there done that" on the SOCOMs. This just looks fantastic, and completely different than the rest of them. Great contrast visually...upscale ivory micarta meets down and dirty aluminum hardcoat. Dig it.

Will you be accepting orders anytime soon? :p

Nice Job!! It really changes the look of the knife.

I'm definately impressed!!
Adds a new twist to the "tactical black" that many seem to be tiring of.
Very nice job.

What is your address? I'll be sending you my SOCOM Elite first thing.

Hey guys, thanks for all of the positive comments.

I really like the combo of Ivory and black, just offers great contrast.

Not taking any orders, sorry. This was a pretty stressful project. I Each piece probably went in and out of my vise 50 - 60 times because I would file a little, fit a little... file a little, fit a little... you get the idea.

Hey Neil, I can get you and Ivory Micarta inlayed one in an even swap for your current EDC :p ;) Even if it is pink :D

Firebat, I'm still waiting for you to tell me this big secret you mentioned earlier....

Nice work, it is quite impressive. Maybe you should start a side business;)

I'm quite comfortable carrying my PINK folder :p

Untill my beadblaster is up and running that is !!!!!!!!! :barf:

The first try with my new anodizer went something like this........Ah almost gold..... turn up the current........AHH NOW it's gold.....turn up the current.....OHHHH NOW THAT'S GOLD......turn the current up a LITTLE more....... OH CRRRRRRRRRRRAP, NOW IT's PINK :(
