I want to do some customizing on an axis lock 705, but have not figured out how to remove the thumb stud or the axis bolt. Anybody have some pointers...they look pretty permanent to me. Looks like there is a small pin pushed into the radius of the stud and bolt. Any help?

ps. I know that I will void the warranty.

I know this will sound stupid but I've got what I thought was a 710 with an axis( don't know what the model is -- threw the box away) and have taken it apart and it is just like two
nuts screwed onto the pin they used a removable lock-tite to keep the little hat looking affairs on the pin. I took off the
scales and then took two small vise grips and took them off with no problems. Hope this helps.

Thanks goshawk...this is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want to damage it if at all possible.
