Customs for $400 or less

Help you save up? Ok, send me your money and I promise I'll send it back when you get to $400

Anything by Will Zermeno (WDZ Knives), who has a hosted forum here on BladeForums. I've borrowed Will's picture of it, but the knife below is one he made for me:

folders or fixed?

just check out the knife makers for sale section on the exchange -- I've seen some VERY nice blades walk out the door under $200 over the past couple of days.

fit and finish can be questionable on custom knives - buyer beware. i have bought many custom knives on this forum and fit and finish seldom matches that of production blades.

i will probably get one of each over time so it does't matter. recommendations for each would be great!
Since you're interested in fixed blades as well as folders, I can't recommend Bill Akers (Backwoods Custom Knives) highly enough. I have 4 of his knives and will definitely be getting more in the future. He does superb work at great prices -- you could probably get a couple of his knives for your $400 budget. Here's a thread with pictures of a bunch of knives he's made.

I love that gun!

None of these were over $400, not even close, and all were purchased in the For Sale by Maker section.

I got this one in the same place for 150 provided I had to make my own sheath.

Overall my experience with customs has been largely positive, but I have seen a knife that didn't really meet my expectations. Nevertheless, those kinds of knives will be used as frequently as possible.

check out wild boar knives, they start at 60 and go up from there, i've met the maker once and he makes some pretty nice knives

I got this from Jake Hoback . D2 steel and g10 ,you can get other steels if you whant to and is a great guy to deal with

seldom matches production blades?? are you talking folders?? I think many makers here will disclose any grind issue and their price would reflect it..

that's a pretty big blanket statement you're making there that I think justifies disclosing exactly what/who it is you're talking about..

I would never sell a knife with the smallest flaw without disclosure, there are many makers here with their craft being their lively hood...

I also find it funny that you continually bought all these customs that were so 'questionable'...

ETA OP: sorry for the slight derailment of your thread, but welcome to the forums and I encourage you to check out the exchange here on the forums there are a lot of great makers here that have very favorable offerings........
