My WWII ran into problems with a by-the-booker of a customs officer and I wasn't able to talk it through. I have been assured that the package is going to be returned to the US but who knows?

Uncle Bill, if the package does make it way back to you from Malaysia, no refund for me. Please send it to the next guy who orders one with my blessings.

This is the first time that's happened. Do you want me to try to ship it to Mohd when it gets back? He's sent and received 25 or so khukuris with no major problems.

Pakcik Bill

I have given all tips on how to collect Khukuri fr Custom to Andrew ... somehow those tips didn't work with him!

It is up to Andrew - insyaa-Allaah! I don't mind to collect it on his behalf provided name in all document must be written as Mohd - and insyaa-Allaah I'll pass that WW II to Andrew ... of course he has to pay the import duty & the sales tax which is about 35% of the item's price + Shipping & Handling Cost

Andrew

Pls let Pakcik Bill knows about your decision!

Mohd, many thanks for your great tips. I guess it would work with anybody except me. I feel a bit embarassed, but I will be very happy to except your kind offer.

Uncle Bill, if you could send the returned Khuk addressed to Mohd, I'd be real grateful.

And to repay Mohd's kind offer, I'm paying for his next Khukuri order. Just tell Uncle Bill what you want and I'll cover it.

Thanks!

When I get it back off to Modh it will go -- another package of Nepalis Steel Handicraft from old Uncle Bill -- or Pakcik Bill in this case.

Pakcik Bill - I guess the item description of "Nepali Steel Handicraft" is a good disguise to import sharp object item such as Khukuri or knife. Once I purchased a Tumbuk Lada from Malay Arts Galery of Singapore - Mr Adli of Malay Arts Galery wrote the item description as "Wooden & Steel Handicraft" - according to him this sort of description helps much in delivering Kerises and South Asian Weapons to Malaysia.
... to repay Mohd's kind offer, I'm paying for his next Khukuri order. Just tell Uncle Bill what you want and I'll cover it ...
Andrew - I have been receiving shipment of Khukuris many times - some for my collection - the rest were for my friends & office colleages - When I said that insyaa-Allaah I will collect the WW II Model for you - it is just my small sincere help as a fellow Khukuri collector - I am happy enough to see your wide grin on your face the moment you receive the Khukuri ... your happiness to receive what you love to receive is actually a valuable gift for me already! Pls don't misunderstand me ... I am willing to help you for free just as I helped purchasing Khukuris for all my friends & office colleages.

BTW Pakcik Bill - how about my special order for 18" 1.75 lbs Wooden Handled UBE? Is it a go? I hope it is a go already!

I am glad I found this forum - there are some truly generous folks around these parts. Mohd, you are a gentleman. If there is ever anything I can do for you, let me know.

I have wanted a real khukuri for the longest time ever since I saw a picture of a Gorkha WWII soldier with one. Must have been well over 20 years ago. Been a long search but the day is coming...

We'll get the knife to you one way or the other, Red. Mohd is one of the good guys. And, Mohd, you special order IS on order.

We had to try three times to get Satoshi's khukuris thru Japanese customs -- failed twice but third time was the charm. Where there's a will there's a way.

My kid brother, age 5, has just been diagnosed with HIKV. The doctors don't seem to have any hope.. my family is too poor to buy him the HI WWII that he needs to survive. My mom is working two jobs as it is and I have no legs.. My sister already died from HIKV and I don't think poor little brother will last very long.

please help!

Vicks, if your story is real (which I somehow doubt) it's sad. It it isn't (which I tend to think is the case) it's funny.

I read the story and am filled with compassion. When I'm finished knitting you a pair of stump warmers I'll send em' to you. :D
