Hi there!
I was just wondering if anyone out there feels like me that the majority of customs' knives should be labelled something like "Artistic Creations" as the actual products being saleable (i.e., the knives) are not related in any direct way to the customer but to the Artist that created them.
What I mean by that, and with all due respect for "custom" knife makers and people who buy from them, is that it is not the customer who dictates or has a say in the design, shape, materials or price of the knife, but the Artist, thus the designation or label "Artistic Creations". I would personally like to see the designation "custom" used sparingly, i.e., if and only if as a customer I were to give directions to a knife maker as to what I would like the knife to look like or be made of in terms of materials.
In my mind, this thought explains why I personally find alot of what are labelled customs' knives uninteresting, or that many production models by major and lesser known manufacturers to be more interesting and attractive as far as my wallet is concerned.
Best wishes,
Edalb
