thank, brad

Yes. There is a commercially available chainmail glove commonly used by butchers, among others, which is pretty much knife proof. They're also popular among carvers:

You have to be TRYING to cut your hand while wearing one of these.

A less expensive option, however, is to just, you know, Not cut yourself.

yea new guys had to use those chain mail looking ones when i worked at sonny's bbq years ago

i dunno the brand name tho

Also, a few years back a lot of folks used these gloves to avoid cuts on their hands:

Of course back then it was generally because some angry frenchman was actively trying to kill them with a big fork-off sword, but times change I guess...

haha........ seriously though, i have a pinched nerve in my left arm so when my hand gets cold it kind of goes somewhat numb and im left with little control. its fine when things are at room temp and seeing how i do most of the cutting stuff outdoors why not get some type of glove....not really insulated just something to keep the elements off it and at same time offer cut protection.......maybe ill stick to leather type work gloves but i figured maybe something else out there purpose desighned for outdoor use

These are what I use, they saved me from being stabbed once by some crazy farmer a few years ago.
Operator™ Shorty Tactical from HATCH
• Water-resistant premium leather palms are sewn with abrasion, cut and heat-resistant nylon thread
• KEVLAR® construction provides excellent cut resistance, heat, and flash protection
• Will not support flame or combust up to 800° F (427° C)
• Elasticized wrist keeps the Operator 'Shorty' taut
• Patented Cut-Ring allows optional removal of the index finger for trigger control, without unraveling the remaining edge
Very nice all around tac. gloves.

Those are alright. I own two pairs of Hatch Operator CQB's (they have a wrist strap and a slightly longer cuff). They're comfortable and sturdy, but the palm/fingertips/web are the only protected areas. I still like them, though when working around plants and brush with nasty thorns and spines, those always found their way through the nomex.

They'll protect you, so long as those cuts fall on the goatskin covered areas.

Try these, $5.99 at Wal Mart. Short of vigorously sawing back and forth with you knife, you should be okay. You should probably also be a bit more careful with you knives.
