I have a friend trying to sell me some cutco knives. Are there any reviews or comments on this company??? I have never heard of this company.

hehehe, really never heard of them?? Then i guess you don't have any senior high school kids in your house hold!

I was one of them.

Lets just say, you can find better knives with a lot less.

Some kid tried to sell me them. They have a good waranty, but other than that you can find better. Dont let the punk fool you! A friend of mine bought a set and they broke when he dropped it from his sink. The company wouldnt refund it because they didnt believe him and said that he was trying to use the knife for a purpose it wasnt designed to. Dont buy it, there crap.

As an asside, Epinion says this has the following specs on a min-Grip:

Brand: Benchmade
Power Source: Cordless
Type: Knives

I laughed at the second one.

I almost got suckered into selling them quite a few years ago now.

Nice handles, nice fit and finish I'd say. WAY over priced for the materials. That special ede of theirs will slice OK for sure, but it really is sawing at food. Sharpmaker and a decent plain edged kitchen knife and you're light years ahead (with more $$ in the pocket.)

I had a Cutco set for over 20 years before I sent them in for resharpening My wife has since replaced them with new ones. I have no complaints. Very sharp, good ergonimics and 1000 trips thru the dishwasher. My 5 piece set was about $70 bucks back when I bought them, circa 1972. Our first "credit" purchase.

My parents bought a set of like 5 or so about 15 years ago. They are still very very sharp and they have never had a problem with them. When I have gone over to their house and used them I have had good experiences with them. They are nice to hold and they cut very well.

I think people make fun of the company all the time. They are probably over priced but they've been good for us. :)

Think I'm going to spend an arm and a leg on Benchmade or Spyderco kitchen knives? No way. I personally think they are WAY overpriced.

Henkles are just fine :)

I've been using a Cutco 9" kitchen for 5 years now on a daily basis for cutting through a variety of foods. I've never needed to sharpen it as it still slices easily through anything I throw at it. All this after many nights of neglect, left forgotten in a puddles of water. I have since handled new kitchen knives that belong to friends and none are as smooth or solid as my beautiful knife. I don't care what people think. It makes me happy.
