Hey guys...im new to this knife thing ( I suddenly seem to have so much interest in knives but to have so little money ) but so far I seem to only like short/stubby/cute knives...btw, Im a guy. Wouldn't this tiny knives seem useless if used for self defense?

I own the one in RED. Know any other similiar knives?

Gerber Fatty

Thanks Chadilac...might be getting that but is also expensive here...RM200 or about 55USD.

If you'd like to try a fixed blade, check out the Counter Tac II, from Cold Steel. 3.25" blade on a mini boot-knife.

Yes. Personally I would not rely on any knife for self defense. That's what a good pistol and training are for. As a last resort, ok sure, carry a knife. But to my mind there are far, FAR more effective tools to EDC if you're planning to carry for self-defense.

The SOG Blink is the coolest little knife ever. It's spring assisted too. When I saw it I had to have it. I play with the damn thing all day. Great little knife.

The Blink is definiely a cool knife. I also heavily favor the Spyderco Cricket. I carry mine every day. It is very slim and the s-curve blade has a lot of uses. I hope it wont cost you too much to get one, but you'll never need another if you get the all steel version.

Get the Cricket, more knife than it seems thanks to the recurvedblade, you'll have a framelock, slim, lightweight, beautiful and incredibly sharp :)

Some states and a lot other countries don't give you the option to carry a pistol around.

And I disagree that short blades are not good for self defense. Short blades can be very effective in self defense. Look at the hidaway knife. It is designed specifically for self defence, and has about a 2 inch blade. Even a blade that short can do massive damage.

Case cutters seemed to work pretty effectively in one or two circumstances, if my memory serves correctly... and they were used OFFENSIVELY, not defensively.
I guess its all about what you bring to the table, and what you're up against. There's no doubt that you're better off with a bigger blade, but for many that's not an option.
Still, a little blade is likely better than no blade at all!
