this one is just a hair more then 5/8 but till i hone it it will be close. its also a shorty as the blade is just 1.75 long
it has safe corners and has amboyna burl mono scale
the steel is 1095 high carbon and it has a SS stop pin (tapered slot makes sure the blade cant pass through but i like the pin )

its on hold for the time being as im working a deal out + i need to mark and hone it

let me know what you think both good and bad i ll take it all

I think that's a sweet razor, Butch. I'd be proud to own it!

I love it. You are really doing some nice razors. I have thought of using a straight razor, but, the other day I had one of my D2 blades so it would take the hair right of my arm, so, I lathered up my face took one pass on a cheek and then promptly chickened out. Wasn't fear really, I just couldn't risk my outstanding good looks. LOL

of all the razors you've done...i like this one the best. the amboyna is beautiful. what made you decide to use 1095?

the 1095 was from the fact that i had been asked about high carbon razors and had not yet got the W2 yet. deker had some 1095 and 1084 to try out
now it seems that i ll have some 52100 to play with soon too

also the scales near the pivot seemed a bit big to a few that looked at it and i agreed so i thinned them out a bit i ll have ot get a new picture up

I know nothing about straight razors, is the other side of the blade flat, or does it have the same grind? Bytheway, that looks great! Sorry, didn't see the 3rd pic. Now I see!

Butch actually grinds on both sides and they are the most centered grinds that I've ever seen!
