Well this all started off with a request from our main dealer (that is in Colorado right now) to send him some "different" stuff. Cutlasses have been selling pretty well and are fun to forge so we got to it.
This first piece is similar to a one piece guard that we make weekly but this time we did it in several pieces and riveted it all together with some 1/8" brass rivets. We planished the surface of the brass Jolly Roger to give it some pop and left the background plate black from forming. I hollow ground faceted the pommel and then hammered the surface to match it up a bit with the guard. The blade was forged to shape and then ground. We polished this one a bit more then normal and gave it a mean back edge.
Here Kerry drills holes for the rivets.
