Seems like 'cutlerylover' on youtube is getting the traditional slipjoint fever, in particular the mini toothpick pattern. Good to see vids on some traditionals!

I wasn't to happy with his Case Tiny Toothpick video. Said they are not usable but more collectible knives.

I had to turn the video off at that point. :grumpy:

BTW Check out my lastest Russlock EDC video. Beautiful knife that was given to me by none other then SunnyD.

You can't go from tacticool to slipjoint cold turkey. I can attest to that. I'm sure over time he'll realize that a knife like a tiny toothpick or peanut can cut just as well as the one-handed frame-lock black coated milspec knife they've been invested in for years.

hey guys...and gal, I have always had an appreciation for slipjoints that goes way back to pre-youtube...I do think they are functional knives and people have used them for hundreds of years with no problems its all a matter of using the right tool for the job, but when I want to bust out a knife and rip open a box, its a lot more efficient with a modern folder, I still occasionally carry a slippy for fun I do feel they are classier knives...

Slippies make good dress knives IMO. Can't exactly wear your Spyderco Civilian in an Armani.

....well I mean you COULD..

It's true, slipjoints are often classier.
I've been thinking and sketching to try my hand at knifemaking myself (main blocking factor is that I live in an apartment), and to date making elegant slipjoints is what tempts me the most.
