I like the bottom one better.

I was at Cutters last week. I had the pleasure of watching Tom put Proto #2 together. And then I got to handle it. One word can describe it...INCREDIBLE. They feel great it the hand, ride in the pocket perfect, cut like a razor, and lock up like a bank vault. I played with both Protos and both were as smooth as glass. I can't wait to get mine. I compared them to my large sebenza. The Cutters Locked up tighter had no blade play while my sebenza had some (side to side) The Cutter feels better in the hand, and has a thicker and longer blade, and snaps open with the slightest flip of the wrist. The quality exceeds that of a sebenza. I offered Tom my sebenza in trade for proto #2 ( I like the looks of the handle better than proto #1) but no luck. For all of you that are considering getting a sebenza, Wait! You must handle one of these first. I think you'll wind up with a Cutter instead. Customer service is great, Tom cares about pleasing his customers. Tom is one heck of a good guy, and he is really passionate about producing the best folder made. (I think he's done it.) I'm sure you will too once you handle one.

Respectfully,

Jason Hager

They are using 154CM for the blades, and handles are solid titanium.
I can't say this enough, They're great!

 That is cool ! And to top it off. . .a Brend #2 style blade. Man. . .can't get any better than that ! :D

I like both proto's. . .prefer the one on the bottom though.

Which handle design are they going to put on the street ?

CK&T are tinkering with a few handle designs. They will probly offer a few different cosmetic choices. My choice is a solid plain handle with no ball mill grooves:) Love to feel that solid TI between the palm.:D Mike

No, I don't want a link or phone number. I don't want an address to send payment. I don't want a street date. This knife is ugly. I bet the action is gritty, and the lock-up is flimsy. The blade is boring and plain, and the handle will be uncomfortable. There, now nobody say anything to change my mind. I have bills to pay. Eventually.

That bottom one is purty. First one isn't bad, but that bottom one is great.

If you decide to use some milled "grip" grooves please do both sides of the handle. The DA version is nice but weird w/only one side milled. Even if the depth has to be shallow (<.020" approx--that the DA has) to accomodate certain cuts around the lock bar and clip, its better than none when compared to the milled opposite side. Either that or no milling on either side appears better....plus you'll save some machine time that way and you'll be able to get the knives out sooner.

I would hope that, unlike the DA model, the blade is a hair under 4" so those of us in MO and other states with 4" limits can carry one legally.
