Some of you may remember the fantastic Brend # 2 titanium frame lock folders and his Bengal karambits. "Sebenza-like" build quality and fit. Two hurricanes destroyed his shop and some family illnesses about shut him down.

However he's again building the knives that made him famous both DA and MA Brends and two folding and one fixed blade karambit design. He has some available for delivery and can be reached at

I have pics of the Brends but can't post them. I can email them to some one who can post them. taogungho@gmail.com

Tom was quick to send me pics but doesn't frequent forums. I'm sure he would send you pics directly. Also search and you'll find some old posts about him and his knives.

Yes.....Tom has been slowly but surely cranking out knives. The Bengal framelock karambit is one of the best.

IIRC, Reese Weiland had some input into the design of one folding kerambit model.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past. Good to see he's still around.

I just picked up the Benchmade 600 Brend. Little did I know I can get the real deal. I'll have to email Tom and see what he has available.

First a hey to Kevin, yup still kickin Kevin.
Its been rough over the last 6 years with the storms and 3 years of family illnesses I had about 2 or 3 months out of each year that I was able to work till the end of 08 and its been about 5 to 6 months a year from then. Now with the grace of GOD Im trying to work every day 5 or 6 hours and starting to but some knives out.

I wanted to say thanks to those of you who emailed me from this post. Its been what 5 years since Iv posted here or even been on the fourm, thanks to Kevin for keeping up the site its bigger then ever now:thumbup:.

I do still do the #2s and the Bengal Karambit its a refined version of REECES folding raven with a quick deployment kydex rig. Reece and I have done a few things together over the years and still do. I also did a fixed blade Karambit designed by Ray Dionaldo and Jerry H that I also still do. I also do a straight fixed blades 4 and 6in.

Hello folks!

I know this is a bit if an old post, but I'm looking for Tom Kyle so that I may request some adjusting of this awesome CKT/ Brend #2 I have. The issue is is that the blade is off center just enough to have it slightly scrape the coating off the blade when it's placed back in. I tried centering the blade by way of folded paper, loosening the screws & tightening them, but I'm afraid I stripped the screws after doing it a couple of times. I may have to ask someone else to do the adjusting, since I can't find his contact info anywhere & his website is no longer up.

Anyone that can help would be awesome.

Thanks BF
