cutting board

I found one heck of a cutting board at our local restaurant supply store, an inch thick and so smooth to cut over.

Ive never used hydroma, but it sounds nice though.

I use the large cutting mats from the Joanns fabrics. They work great for round knives and I use the built in angles and measurements guide quite often.

I have two of those mats that Skyler is talking about on the bench. They are great too. I use the grids and the premarked rulers all the time. I do all my roller knife cutting for chap work on those things but I can't use a roundknife like Skyler does on em, I get stuck. Literally I get the blade stuck in the mat. Must be me cause I have several friends that are full time leather craftsmen (and use my roundknives) and thats all they use is those mats. I can't use the white poly boards either, get stuck in them too. I've got a piece of hydroma 18"x24" that I move around on the workbench on top of the mats. It handles all roudknife cutting and punch work. I find that my roundknife will cut through the leather and then kinda skate across the hydroma and that works well for me.

Those little white poly boards are great for strap and hole punches. They are a bit softer than other materials which makes for less sharpening and maintenance.

I have a great need also for a good cutting board/pad

However when searching for "Hydroma" add "cutting boards", to the search line; or your going to be surprised what comes up..

Just saying fellas..

All The Best...
