Cutting coke bottles

I made a new play knife the other day and had a friend over to hack some coke bottle. Man that was fun

Yep that fun but showing my age,when I read the title I thought how is he onna cut glass.Forgot they are made of plastic now.

If you ever decide to cut a glass bottle the way to do it is get the bottle good and hot and then wrap a wet string around it. It will then snap off at that point.

This is the blade I made for the occasion. The blade was lying around the workshop for a couple of months. Just whipped a handle on to it and presto! instant cutting knife.

Blade is 5160 handle is Bacote with copper. OAL 16 inch

Funny thing, I used to have a glass bottle cutter and I thought ahhh, that isn't very interesting so I didn't look at the thread. till now.
