Yesterday, I attended Chris Moss' wedding ( knifemaker87). It was a nice affair. Unusual to most weddings, Chris gave a cutting competition demo at the reception. This must have been really hard to do, as I understand he said he plans on never doing it again.
Now, talk about sharp, take a look at his bride! Grace, welcome to the Bladeforums.

The vows had an unusual addition. In the vows from Gracie to Chris, she made all the usual promises. The additional one was..."To support and encourage your unusual hobbies...as long as your disability insurance stays paid up."

Congratulations Chris and Grace! You know that Grace has to subscribe to bladeforums now, don't you? =) What a fitting vow addition !

Chris, you should have gone one step further in confusing themes at your wedding and gone with formal Scottish attire, just think, a Japanese style blade, a kilt, and an American wedding !! Ok Ok... I'm just kidding about that =) ... sorta =P

Awesome! I will always remember my wedding day. It was a fantastic time, but I didn't have a nice "cake knife" like that! Congrats, and may the years bring you together closer each day.

Good on ya, brother. Of course, Chris is now probably on his honeymoon in Japan studying under a anciently old master sword smith while his new wife tsks from the corner of the room as she helps stoke the tamahagane fire. ;)

There was a kilt at the wedding.....just not on Chris.

Chris came over to discuss how to wear the sword. I suggested either making a simple leather slip on frog, that would latch over the kurikata, or tying the sageo in the normal way and wearing a sword belt clip hooked on the sageo knot loop. That is what he did, and it looked and worked perfect. Here are some shots of how he wore the sword, and them cutting the first cake.

Chris , you are such a trip... I must admit, when I heard your sword wedding idea I worried about it being too egghead, but Stacy's photos have allayed my fears. You pulled it off!

What a woman that beautiful is doing with a goofball (albeit a talented one like you;) ) is no one's guess - good on ya! Keep her happy!

My best to both of you.

Congrats Chris and Grace!
Great pics Stacy.
Chris is a fine knife/sword maker.
