Cutting Competition
We are having a cutting competition on Feb. 12, 2015 at Uncle Al's 2nd Thursday meeting. You are more than welcome to come and participate or just watch!
We usually try to incorporate a cutting demo at the monthly meeting, so that new makers have an idea of what a knife is suppose to do. But for a while I have been wanting to have a cutting competition since there isn't THAT many out there.
Time & Place:
5:30 p.m.
Thursday, Feb 12.
Prizes:
1st Place Trophy
2nd Place Prize
3rd Place Prize
Judges:
Jerry Fisk M.S.
J.R. Cook M.S.
Mike Williams M.S.
We are trying to keep it to bowie styled knives and we are going to make it as safe as we possibly can. But I will outline any specifics in the next week.
Here are a couple of pictures from the last cutting events at Uncle Als, plus some from the shop tour Jerry had a while back, and a few from his micro show this past year:
Lin Rhea M.S. cutting some rope at Jerry's last shop tour.

I know it is a week before the AKA show, but it is the only month (within the next 4 months) that Jerry Fisk M.S., J.R. Cook M.S., and Mike Williams M.S., and I will all be there at the same time.
Once we see how it goes, the idea is to have one every year and make it an annual thing. Anyway, I figured I would let you guys know, if you were interested.
