Can I use my metal cutting bandsaw to cut g-10?If so,what speed should I use? Thanks.

I just cut some for the first time last week. It was much easier than I expected. My saw was set to 80 SFM and I was using a 12-14 TPI bi-metal blade.Cut like butter.

I have a Harbor Freight, set on the lowest speed always, with the same blade John is using, probably. I don't change speeds for anything and I cut everything on it easily. The only thing that has given me big problems is African Blackwood because it crams into the teeth and the blade basically stops cutting altogether, so about every 1/2" I cut I have to stop the blade, clean it, and start it up again. Otherwise, everything seems to cut easily on it.

I use the metal cutting blade for G10 but for most woods I had a wood cutting blade made at our local saw shop that fits my metal band saw. I still just use the slowest speed also. Ironwood really packs up the teeth on the metal cutting blades.
