Cutting knife in progress

Here is one of my first knives in progress. I hope to have if rough ground today and get it heat treated soon.

Well, I guess it could vary, but in my case it is a knife I could use in an ABS Cutting Competition. Should do well against 2x4s and 1" ropes.

It has to be under 10" in blade length, 15" max overall, and 2" wide max.

Yeah! Decided on handle material yet?

There's a lot of drop to that handle - should add power for the 2 by 4 chop.

Planning on black canvas micarta with stainless tube pins. Simple and tough.

Well, got the blade rough ground, heat treated, and tempered. Time to finish grind!
