I have several giraffe shin bones (the long straight ones). What would be the best way to cut the bone into slabs? Both the type of equipment to use, and the layout of the cuts on the bone. Also, how should I stabilize them? Thanks in advance, Jim V

Hi Nyatii . Welcome to Blade Forums :) There have been many discussions here about the best way to stabilize wood and various other materials used in knifemaking. The general consensus is that unless you are set-up with the right chemicals and equipment (vacuum pump,& other equipment I am not familiar with). This company is the one of the best and most cost effective ways to go about stabilizing your giraffe bone. http://www.stabilizedwood.com/ BTW , if you are adamant about doing it yourself use the search function and you will find many threads related to stabilizing . Here is a tutorial . http://www.northcoastknives.com/northcoast_knives_tutorials_hints_tips3.htm
