My boy cutting sticks with his xmas khukri.

Yeah he comes out in the woods with me and had been wanting one bad. He had been going out there with a little letter opener for two years. I figured it was time for an upgrade around christmas, I got his cousin one too.

what model/size is that khuk by the way? Seems just about right for a young lad his age... wish I had a sweet khukri like that when I was younger :p

It's one of those bilton 9 inchers. Yeah he's on top of the world with it. He only gets to have it when we go to the woods, but it's got him asking to go out more and playing the gameboy less.

Classic photo...

Do I see a little V cut in that downed tree beside him??

That is so cute. I saw a kukri on tv at the age of 5 on the history channel and thought it was really cool looking. Didn't see a real one until bladeforums.com was discovered 13 years later. Bought one finally two years later and it's been up hill ever since.

My first kukri was that 9 inch bilton.

I first heard of them when i was in my teens, reading a REALLY old set of encyclopedias at my grandmother's house. (Britannica, circa 1960's.)

I first learned about them in '84, when I was 14. Saw one in a newspaper article. Bought one in early '85. Been hooked since. My first was an Atl Cutlery khuk that I still have and use. I now have a nice, HI Bonecutter ordered.
