Please take the obvious price difference off the table.

Which blade steel performs better on the Peanut, CV or Damascus? I like the looks of the Damascus but I'm looking for a good user. I don't mind using and abusing the Damascus if it can take it.

Thank you for your input.

I forgot to add in that I bought a stag Peanut in tru-sharp stainless. I really love the pattern. Makes a great EDC.

The burnt amber bone Damascus that Case is offering right now is a great little knife. The Damascus is made by Devin Thomas and is as good as it gets.

I bought one some months ago and it came nice and sharp with great f&f. I've used it some and it holds it's edge well and comes right back to razor sharp with a few passes on a leather hone charged with compound.

I don't own a CV peanut so can't compare but I'm totally satisfied with the Damascus peanut.

To be honest with ya, kodiak, for this size knife, CV, Damascus, or Tru-sharp really doesn't matter. The blades are so thin, they cut great no matter what steel is used. The edge retention from one steel to another is pretty negligable, and they all gt razor sharp. I have the Bone Stag Peanut in SS as well. If you already have that one, and are just looking for a user, then just use that one. If you are looking for an excuse to buy another knife (HINT HINT, WINK WINK) and cost is not an issue, treat yourself and go for the Damascus.

I advise you to get yourself several peanuts, there are many attractive scales to choose from and as has been stated, all the steels are thin and keen cutters

Try Antique Bone (a new smooth pattern) yellow handle is always nice,Bonestag,Brown bone, Barnboard or Crandall Cutlery are all worthwhile EDC

Thank you all for your replies. How astute of you ElCuchillo, I am just looking for an excuse to buy another knife!:D

I have two Case Jack patterns I love. I can't seem to find them new. Did they discontinue them?
