I guess I kind of understand the rules violation, but I really appreciate it when someone posts the new Web Specials from Buck. That helps me out a lot. I am wondering what the difference is?

I found some buck 110 folders and passed on the information and ended up with a rules violation. I have been using / collecting bucks for over 40 years and my family longer too. The whole deal upset me and i sent some emails and asked for my post to be deleted and give me a chance but i guess the rule violation warning is still on.

I thought this board was for sharing info about the bucks and such. I have seen such postings before too. My thoughts are probably someone flagged my post because they were jealous they did not find a deal.

Also it was mentioned the board supports the people who advertise here.

I was not advertising for anyone, just felt good about what I ran into and shared it.

It is no different than the guys posting about all the holidays tins available, price and then the clearance prices at the big box store and where also. I bet they do not advertise here either, but mention of that store goes unchallenged.

Well anyways it is what it is and I guess I have to live with it, and maybe this board has their own special clicks / clique of folks and ones who just read but don't post much don't mean much.

Now everytime I look at my buck knives I get sort of pissed about the whole deal. The deal I found I was going to give as christmas presents, now I feel like taking them back.

I don't like being agitated.

oh well I will have to just get over it.

Hello Kweishuhn,
I am sorry to hear about this whole thing! I can tell from your post that you were happy with the deal you got and just wanted to share the info with the rest of us.
I am by no means an expert on what we can and cant do here but if you have another post that your not sure of, (and I certainly HOPE you will still hang out here!) you can send me an email and I will check it out for you.
You have been using Buck Knives for more than 40 years and I hope you will think of that whenever you use one now. I wish I could do something about the yellow card, i cant, but I hope you can forget about that and think about the Buck Knife company, up here in the frozen North West, making knives while the snow flies!
Take care,

I think the difference begins with manufacturers forums. Buck Knives is the manufacturer, their factory website is connected with the Buck forum here on BladeForums. The same would apply over in the Busse forum, and their link with Busse Combat.
Lots of folks pay for "Dealer" & "Knifemaker" memberships to sell, as do "Gold & Platinum" memberships, in their appropriate forums. It would be a continuous blast of spam and links to everything but knives, if the rules and guidelines here aren't followed. BladeForums does not operate for free, and the links to various sites would be free advertisements for "others", and the paying members here would be footing the bill. Spark runs this website for knifenuts....and I'll bet he personally covers a lot of the associated costs.

So is wally mart, dicks, paid advertisers here? I have seen numerous refrences to their inventory / stock and sale prices and clearance prices as well as some others.

I know we have talked about Buck knives from those stores, especially the holiday tins, I guess the moderators are easeing off a bit, but they don't want blatant deals from places. I am glad they allow us to talk about the tins and the web specials, I certainly find them useful.

It was kind of bad when I read about the web specials and the great deal on a 110 two days AFTER they had been sold out.

I suspect that many of them that get by, just go un-noticed by the moderator's. I'm sure they don't go through every thread just looking for violations. More than likely, the title of the thread was a big red flag.

Yup. Keep in mind, Kweishuhn, that your yellow 'chicklet' didn't come from Buck, rather it came from a violation of Blade Forum rules. The warning is temporary and happens to the best of us (trust me on that).

Just let it go. I got jigged on another forum on this site for linking to a sale put on by the owners of this site. Figured there was no way that could be an issue but, hey, it happens.

most times some one draws a mods attention to a post
some times they happen to pass by
i got points for joke and half way meaning that i would trade or
buy some ones knife and tho point dead line passed it still shows over 2 years later
dont worry .. each mod is a little different
what one will let pass another might not
but per rules a mod is a mod and
dont argue with or sas them .. they have a tough job

Hey I got a violation for saying I got a knife and was happy with it in the buy and sell section in the thread it was posted. The Mod said no comments were allowed there, but the rules said no negative comments were allowed and others post often the same positve message....I was mad as hell and alomst stopped posting myself. You will get over it as I did, and I do understand this site is run by a private person and we are playing in his home and must follow his rules.

I've been warned and also "ticketed" for "deal spotting" - just saying that something was available on e-bay; and for commenting in the Bucks for sale forum. Nothing to worry about. It happens to most of us.

Different forums have different rules. The Blu-ray forum has a special section, much like the special Bucks for sale section, where deal spotting is not only allowed but encouraged. But blade forums doesn't want to draw attention to dealers who don't pay into the BF website. Just go with the rules for whichever forums you use - though it is sometimes hard to keep them all straight. :)
