Leeks, bumps, ZT, even chives get all the credit. I love my Cyclone and I wanna hear you guys praise them more.:grumpy:

As rb said, the MC TI/ZDP is one of the best values out there in production folders. Amazing steel and the perfect size. I also have 4 regular Cyclones, and they are fantastic too. The fit in my hand, whether the full sized or mini, is very natural and comfortable. 13C26 is a good all around steel, and I'm looking forward to adding a few more Cyclones once the 14C28N hits the market in January.

I've been thinking of getting a Cyclone for quite a while now. Just from looking at it I like the blade angle, long thumb ramp, and wide handle.
I've kept putting it off though, in part because of the lock (I'm also waiting for the steel upgrade).
That's not to say Kershaw makes a bad liner lock, but with a frame lock it would be (almost) bulletproof, and one sweet knife.
If they would increased the liner thickness to 0.07" (like the ones on the JYD II), That would do the trick as well.

Regardless, it's one sweet design.

Another thought on a frame lock version.

Normally the problems with a frame lock version would be a dramatic increase in price from the use of Titanium, or an increase in weight due to the big thick steel slab on the handle.
However, If you just double the thickness of the liner on one side, and do the same for the aluminum on the other side, the whole thing would weigh the same and hopefully cost about the same as well.
At 6.3 ounces it's not exactly a light knife to begin with, so a little extra weight shouldn't hurt anyway.

If only we should be so lucky.

I have a couple of Ti/ZDP Mini Cyclone framelocks, and they are among my favorite production knives I have ever owned. The Ti handle slabs are nice and thick, and they feel quite a bit sturdier than the ones on the Ti/ZDP Leek. The manual flip action is also really good on these, I can flip both of them open pretty easily with no wrist at all, so I usually just leave the SpeedSafe off on them when I carry.

I dunno, my recent purchase of a Composite JYD II has me wondering why I still have my Cyclone.

I will praise the Cyclone! Here is mine:

I have both a regular mini cyclone and a Ti/ZDP mini cyclone and I love them both!

I would love to see a Ti framelock composite blade mini cyclone though!:D

I've got the same one, but I miss the assisted opening feature, and the JYD seems too big and heavy.

Really? I've got both of mine in front of me right now and their size is virtually identical (JYD is maybe 1/4 inch longer when opened) and the same goes for weight (i just checked and the Cyclone is very slightly heavier)

The assisted opening is actually my main gripe. I can open my JYD just as quickly and easily without it, and without the borderline legal issues.

I'm actually locking myself inside the house to prevent myself from running out and getting a Tanto version I saw...

Self control. Self control.

Oh man, I will probably buy one of those in a week or so. I have a whirlwind and a blur coming, excited for that too. Believe me though, a cyclone and maybe a mini cyclone will be my next purchase. ;)
