Only two years old? And being discontinued already? Bummer.
2006 Feb — TO SPEEDSAFE OR NOT TO SPEEDSAFE? IT'S YOUR CHOICE.
TUALATIN, OR—With Kershaw Knives’ new Cyclone series, the user
can choose whether to engage or disengage the patented Kershaw Ken
Onion SpeedSafe assisted opening function.
This innovative “On/Off Option” enables users to set it one way for fully
manual operation. But just a flip of the roll-switch on the spine and the
Cyclone’s ambidextrous SpeedSafe system engages to assist opening
smoothly and easily.
In addition to the SpeedSafe On/Off Option, the new Cyclones provide a
unique high-performance blade shape designed for precision and
maximum performance. For extra durability and edge retention, the
blades are built of Sandvik 13C26 stainless steel. Handsome, anodized-
aluminum handles provide lightweight strength and make the new
Cyclones ideal for pocket carrying, too.
Kershaw’s Cyclones come in a variety of sizes and blade styles. Choose
the Cyclone Model 1630 for a standard-edge blade and the 1630ST for a
partially serrated blade. The Black Cyclone (Model 1630BLKST) offers a
Tungsten DLC-coated, matte-black blade with partial serration. For a
compact version of the Cyclone, choose the Mini Cyclone with or without
partial serration (Models 1635 and 1635ST). All models feature Ken
Onion styling and the new On/Off Option.
Made in the USA, the full-sized Cyclones retail for $89.95, the Black
Cyclone for $99.95, and the Mini Cyclones for $79.95.
To SpeedSafe or not to SpeedSafe? Now there’s more choice than ever
with our new Cyclone series. All Cyclones are built to maintain
Kershaw’s worldwide reputation for quality and innovation. The company
prides itself on using the highest quality materials and state-of-the-art
techniques to produce knives and other cutting tools that are prized
throughout the world.
