Hello all, fresh from the OL lab, i have my Kershaw Cyclone.
As the title suggests, i have been doing some modding on it. so far i have taken 100 grit (yes 100 grit) sand paper to the blade to just to play around with the finish, and to practice for my Lahar. So far the finish looks decent, all things considering. more on this as i go up in the grit of the sand paper.
the thing i want to focus on here is the edge. we have seen some people here that have said 13c26 is basically crap. well, i took my Cyclone out and decided to hack some plants up. some of the plants were soft so no big challenge there. however there was one plant, more like a weed, that was more than annoying. it is really fiborus, thick (some branches about a 1.5" thick), and alot like a tree, but it isnt.
well i take the knife in saber grip as that was possibly the best for this, and just started hacking away at it. took a few chops, depending how hard a snapped my wrist at the moment, but it fell it quite easily.
now for the big thing. the edge. it would shave before i attempted this, fairly easily. afterwards, it still shaved, without any noticable difference.
granted this is small scale testing, but it is a start. i will have pics up tomorow
