Cyclone ON/OFF switch question?

I am a big fan of the Cyclone. Both mini and full size (the big boy). When pocket clip is changed to tip up carry (especially the mini) can be carried very comfortably. It appears to me that the weak point on this knife is the ON/OFF roller. It has a tendency (in my experience) to brake with too much use or improper use. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

There is a screw at the ON/OFF switch that when tightened down enough disables the movement of the switch. Rendering it either full time AO or manual with what seems to me no ill affect on the operation of the knife.

Is this a viable option? In other words, was it designed for this function?
Is it ok to do this without damage to the knife long or short term?

First, the reason they break is that the On/Off roller is not designed to be operated with the blade closed. Only use the switch when the blade is open.

As for tightening down the screw that runs thru the switch, yes you can snug it down (but don't over tighten it and strip or break it) to where the switch is difficult to use, and this will keep it from accidentally being moved while in your pocket.

Hope this helps!

It only helped to the point that it completely answered my question.:)

Thanks for taking the time to answer.
