cyclone problem?

i have heard there is a problem with the speedsafe on/off knob-where the speedsafe stops working-if you turn it off or on while the blade is closed -is this true? and does anyone have any info on this???
 
It doesn't activate when shut but I hadn't heard it would hurt it. Maybe one of the elders will chime in... Russ
 
i was told that it will bend something inside and there is a video of a guy on youtube talking about it and how to fix it...just search for "kershaw cyclone" on youtube.com -i have also been told that they have stopped making this knife-dont know if this is true or not though...
 
i think i can handle those questions.

I have heard that it will hurt the bar inside the well when you try to activate it while closed. the switch, if you take the knife apart you will see this, was designed to be used when open. I wouldnt chance it if you want to keep it working.

as for the knife being discontinued, that rumor is true. at least according to my sources *which happen to be pretty darn good :D*

Makes me wonder if there were enough problems with people switching the Cyclone while closed to warrant its discontinuation? :confused:
