Bit plain Joe? LOL just kidding, looks great! That handle is amazing! I love the outline too!

Hey thanks guys. It's good to hear that you like the clean look. Sometimes I have to stop myself from adding engraving, etching, carving, or exotic sheath inlays... a lot of neat things to do in this craft!

I love that knife. That is a kitchen "heirloom" that the grandkids will fight over. I think that may be one of my favorite handle materials I have seen in quite a while.

That's enough to keep this galley slave below decks! Wow, really beautiful knife. Give me a hint what something as beautiful would cost. I need to have a dream!
Sincerely,
Fred

Hi, Fred. Thanks for the nice comments.

The price I quote depends on the pattern, materials used, finish desired, embellishment, and accessories. Out of respect to this client, I won't give this price, and as he ordered it a while ago, it wouldn't be valid anyway.

My prices have continued to rise, as most maker's have, depending on their popularity and client's interest. Many guys who have ordered from me several years ago have found that their knife has more than doubled in value in the time it has taken me to make it. I believe this is how it should be with successful makers who have a long order list.

I've written about prices, value, investment, and the business of knifemaking in detail on my website.

Thanks!
Jay
