Success! Got my CZ 452 today! I had some time to kill between errands today so I wandered over to Gander Mountain to check out their knives, wilderness gear, survival stuff. Checked out the .22 rack for bolt actions and there was the CZ, singing her siren song at me: "Take me, O Handsome One, I'll do anything you want for only $240, I love you long time" ;). Took me about 1-1/2 seconds to make up my mind. And a friend of mine, who just started working there, was the salesman on duty so he gets the points. And when I got home, the Cabela's Christmas catalog was here. Some days, everything just feels right.

Thanks to everybody who recommended this rifle.

Speaking of knives, I took a good look at the Bench Made Rant, which looks a lot like my CS Master Hunter. If I didn't have the CS, I would buy a Rant, they are almost the same in size, pattern and price.

I've heard alot of great things about those. Hope you enjoy yours! (and tell us how it does, eh? I need something myself that's a bit lighter and cheaper to beat through the woods than my Remington 541)

Now git out there and enjoy the day while yer havin' one of them blessed types!:D

(I'll keep cowering in front of my computer for the day since I'm askeered of Friday the 13th):D

Kinda like your toast landing butter side up!!:D

Excellent! I'm glad you opted to take my advice. I presume that your purchased a trainer model? A little more than mine was if so, but it has been a few years and CZ's are more popular than they were then.

I would recommend replacing the the sling swivels with some better ones if you intend on mounting a sling. The studs are good, but I thought the swivels could have been better.

Mine is definetely dandy. Last weekend, I shot a NRA Light Rifle Match at a local gun club with mine. I shot a 275 out of 300, and took second (50 feet, 30 shots off hand). Tied with the guy who one, but had a lower final target than he. The match winner was also shooting a CZ Trainer, but with a nicer scope and higher end ammo.

Thanks MP510 and Tom. Besides your recommendations, I read reviews outside the forum and heard nothing but good.

Yes, I did get the Trainer...I looked at several websites that offered them, and this price was consistent with theirs...and I didn't have to make arrangements with a local FFL dealer, who would probably want a handling fee, and then shipping costs, etc. This transaction was lightning fast ;)

I agree about the sling swivels, they are a little lightweight. I'll try them for now. I don't know if I'll ever scope it, but I like that the grooves are there, it would be real easy.

I've got today to go to the range. I'm going to use the ammo I have on hand, CCI Blazers and Remington brass HPs, see how they print.

By the way, nice shooting MP. I'm impressed that this can be a serious competition rifle as well as a game-getter and potential survival gun.

Good choice. I've enjoyed mine and there isn't a crow in the county that's safe!

Good job! Now get out to the range and have some fun with your new rifle, like I did a few days ago.

I also have the Brooks trigger kit in my rifle. It was easy to put in and works fine.Patrick

Thanks guys, I appreciate the tip on the trigger kits. I'm working with mine as is out of the box right now, but I already know I want to lighten and smooth the trigger some.

I've been to the range twice in the past week (going again Saturday), put about 300+ rounds through it, experimenting with different brands. The rifle shoots fine, mainly I'm working on MY shooting technique...I get nice tight groups and then I get wild groups...been a few years since I've done any rifle shooting, got sidetracked to pistols for awhile.
