D Guard Ideas for the B11 ?

Weave it tight enough so that it doesn't slip over the but onto the handle portion. I'll be trying one on mine as soon as it gets here. A detachable one wouldn't really fit. I like this weave, it's more symmetrical then the others I've found and looks great and works well on my NMFBM:

I did a super king cobra (3layers) on mine and I really like it. I was trying to come up with a way to make it removable, but couldn't get anything I liked, tried chain links and shackles. No pics as of now.

You'll have to ask one of them then. Putting a leather D-guard on a Res-C handle with less room to work might be a bit $$ more than it's worth. I've never seen a D-guard on that type of handle.

Pics, please?

Chris.

Thanks! Coyote on Tigerhide looks Grrrreat! They mesh perfect and the sheath matches the D-guard as well. Steelnut is my favorite Kydex slinger FYI.

That thing is near perfect (in my mind).

Chris.

Thanks! I tried a few before I decided I like that one best. 10 minutes with Coyote paracord and you're done. That video is the best tutorial on the weave that I've found. I never thought getting into knives meant I'd learn how to weave stuff. :D

I'll be using that tutorial now to make a d-guard for my BWM when it arrives. Oh, the near perfect comment referred to the whole package. Gotta love those NMFBM's :)

Chris.

I'll admit a personal flaw here. I love that D-guard and I tried it out, BUT, I'm a bit OCD about symmetry and that D-guard weave is a bit off center no matter what you do. :( I think I'm just a bit silly in the head, but you're a champ for posting that, it was my original inspiration for weaving my own. Thanks!

No problem. I had to post another pic later on in the thread after doing it again, only keeping it tighter. I'm the same way on wraps and hate "pregnant" looking ones. The Solomon bar is a nice way to go as well. I've found that with any guard, just make sure you are keeping everything snug and tight as you go. Makes it cleaner all around :D

Tired and hot up here. Just realized what you mean by off. Meaning off centered and I would agree there. The solomon would be squared better as you stated :D I need a cold glass of water and a nap :D:thumbup:

Here are some pics of the big fat Cobra D-Guard I put on my B-11

Oh and since these pictures I have taken a few dings out of the B11. I was hacking my stairs apart and either got into some real hard wood, or hit metal.

Well I thought I'd give this a go today while the missus and kids were out. This tutorial vid at the top of the page is perfect. It creates the perfect D guard - wide, even, firm etc. Nice and easy too. Obligatory pics to keep people interested:

You don't need 4 kilometres of para cord for a D guard :(

Nice job on the solomon bar. I've made three or four of these so far. I have mixed two different colors of para cord to get a different pattern.
Also i have added exta para cord to make it wider and thicker. Great pics too.

Thanks mate. I'm really impressed how it came out. That solomon bar is very easy to get right. Got any pics of yours?

Chris.
