Always wanted to make one. Finally got around to it.
Made it as indistructable as I could without making it
uglier than needed.
It's 19.5" overall with a 1095 spring steel blade
13.5" X 2. 5/8" X 1/4" thick. The hardware is 1018
steel welded in place. Curly maple scales.
I made the handle big enough for a large gloved
hand. There's a full 5" of finger space "in" the D-guard.
A leg strap seemed like a better option for this rather
than a "cord" tie.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for looking,
Mike

1st-That is beautifull!!
2nd-Is the D gaurd functional(ie. Knuckle knife or to protect the hand from bushes and such?)

Finally stopped raining long enough to take some outside pics.
The D-guard is 1/4" thick steel and part of the full tang.
Thanks for looking and for the kind words,
Mike

As always, love your work.

I love the serious raw, duty-knife look yet still given serious attention to the fit and finish.

It looks like it demands to be out in the field. None of that pussy-footin', collector, safe-queen BS.

Your knives are realy starting to grow on me! I like the unique rugged style, and I love large blades!

I would like to request that maybe you could include the weight of your knives when you list their stats.

- is this one going to be on ebay?

This one sold here at bladeforums in the makers
fixed blades for sale section.
Ebay was charging me to much to sell there.
This weighed 2lb. 9oz. I believe.

It appears to be a well liked design.
I'm getting a good many requests for
more.
After some fighters and bowies I'll do
another one.
Thanks for looking,
Mike

My impression:

Had the kopis/falcata swords continued on in use in the western cultures, they probably would have evolved into something like that around 1850 or so. I can definitely see that beautiful beast lopping off heads in the Civil War on that alternate timeline. Yes indeed.

I love MC's visual style; retro and futuristic at the same time.

Good stuff.
