How is the overall functionality of the D-Guard, and thanks for the great pictures.

Thanks NewBob, yeah it looks like it would keep the knife from possibly getting out of your hand.

Nice thats what I was thinking, I've got to get a couple of those. Pretty much got the same knife as you NewBob. Its a FBMLE with brownish handle slabs.

Here's my ASH-1 D/C with Mashed Cat D-guard. I put small o-rings under the fasteners for the D-guard to keep it from rattling or moving, and it seems to have worked pretty well. Next thing I need is a sheath to fit this. I'd appreciate if anyone has any, if pictures could be posted of knives with D-guards in sheaths (leather or kydex) made to fit 'em properly and accommodate the guard.

The sheath was made to fit with the D-guard on my BM
If you look close you can see the link in the kydex

Disaster Monkey good idea with the o-rings, looks good thanks for the photos.

Does the chain link that connects the d guard to the handle of the blade dig into your finger after a while? Just curious is anyone has compared the chainless d guard with the chained d guard? Thanks for your input.

I just put one on my BWM tonight. It seemed like a good idea. I guess I'll see how I like it when I get to chopping.

I think I could make a sheath for it!

I'm sure you could. I have kydex sheaths by four different makers. Two of 'em are made by you and I must say they have the most consistently perfect fit. If I decide to go for kydex I'll likely talk to you about it, though I'm hesitant to mail my knife across the border for sheath fitting.

Looks good!!

+1 That does look really good, Heyday. I'll probably try to pull off something similar when I get my BWBM.
