I just wanted to thank Yangdu for the selection she provides the sharks.

Specifically, I have noticed the inclusion of the impressive "D-handle Khuk"s of late.

I wonder if there would be any interest is adopting this style to include some of the lighter, faster blades.

I happily envision a "D" Sirupati, Kobra or Chit.

Anyone else?

I don't usually care for D guards, but I would like something like a Chitlangi with a small guard.

There you go John! Great minds think alike...:D

Not wild about the d-handles - neither the recent ones, nor those in the linked thread. Dunno - they just don't quite look right to me on a khuk. But then, variety is ...

Great research Jmpstock! Like Rusty I am partial to that ridged blade. Yvsa, you were there; do you recall what happened with these?

Thanks,

Norm

Yeah, I remember.

I think that if you emailed Yangdu, you could probably get one made for you (D-handled Sirupati)- Since you're just asking for an existing handle on an existing style of blade, I think this wouldn't be too much trouble.

Yeah, I remember.;) :p

Didn't y'all see Uncle Bill's answer? :( :o
Unfortunately these never happened and Bill made damn sure they wasn't gonna happen by pricing them so damned high.
This was way back when the HI Khukuris weren't so expensive and for them to be $300.00 apiece Bill was making damned sure no one was gonna buy any, namely me and he knew if he could shut me up that the other guys wouldn't push it.
Old Fart anyway.:grumpy: ;)
I would still love to see the Khanjarlis made but I sure enough couldn't afford one at the $300.00 price tag now like I could've then but wasn't willing too.
And don't get me wrong. I'm now of the mind that the Khanjarlis should go for at least that because of the difficulty in manufacturing them. Miss Yangdu evidently lost money over the short Foxy Folly deal and these Khanjarlis would be a helluva lot more difficult to make than they were, especially the ribbed one that Little Bro and me were so crazy about.:o

An 18 to 20 inch Sirupati or Chit blade on that d-handel in a word-wonderful!

Now how about the Tarwar blade?? :D

Actually in a few words, "Uncomfortable as Hell!!!!":thumbdn:  :grumpy: Those handles with the large round ring at the base or top of the handle are at the least awkward and at the worst like I already said. If the large round pommel could be gotten rid of they would be a lot more comfortable. ;) :D

Ok all forgive my mangeled attemp at this but you know me! :D

Well different strokes and all that but this one would be a helluva lot better than the one on the Khanjarlis.;)
Getting rid of that round pommel takes care of my objections to the piece.
The handle on the opposite knife in the Khanjarlis pic would even be a little better.
