Just kidding, but seriously, you think someone from Benchmade would realize that they could make a ton of dough if they started making all the old balis again (BM31, BM43, BM47, BM49, etc). Now all they offer is the BM42, and everyone is out of them too!! Who would help me petition Benchmade to dust off the tooling remake all of their old bali's. Benchmade just does not realize that they would easily sell at least a thousand of these models to just Bladeforum members. The model I wish they would bring back was the BM31, but knowing Benchmade they would only make "limited editions" that rich people could afford. In reality a new BM31 should cost about $100 as it is 3/4 a BM42. (About +-$130). And the BM49! There would be quite a few of those sold to collectors, as I heard it was voted the "Most Collectable Knife Of the Year" somewhere (although it wouldn't be so "collectable" anymore). Come on, we all know that if possible, we wouldn't buy a weehawk (I'm not bashing the weehawk, but there are so many more choices available.) if more tantos, bowies, clip and spear points were available, BM would definitely sell a ton of those.

I for one would buy 2 BM31's if they were offered at a reasonable price. But now I'm forced to buy a Microtech Dragonfly.... Sorry Benchmade you've just lost a customer.

I say, old chap, exquisite idea. Mind if i have a gander? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :D ;) :p

Actually, there's a very limited market for bali's, especially something like the 49. As for pricing on the BM31, the handles are sintered titanium (sort of like injection molded) rather than cast. I heard somewhere that they had problems with the production process.

I'm pretty sure Benchmade could cast BM31's, so they shouldn't be that hard to make. :)

you know wesp, you do this to all of your topics. sometimes you should just let a thread die. Speaking Generally anyway.
