Or not, whatever.
Who else sends about three "Hey, what's the birth date on that Seb?" PM's a week?
I know I'm not the only one...

I have never cared about birth-date, but I know it's imp for some buyers. If I advertise a CRK, I try to show the birthcard so that the DOB is obvious.

It is important for Mnandis to know if they are the newer or older models. I give the year as minimum.

I know what you mean, if I post something in the exchange, I will include a shot of the card.

I show the card, and like it when others do, but it shouldn't be a mandatory rule.
The exchange Mods have a hard job as is, and this would only add to that.

I agree, I was just griping a little. I wasn't really thinking it should be a rule, or anything.
Maybe just an unwritten rule... ;)

I'd recommend any seller show the date - I'd be more likely to buy or pay little more if one matched an important event like kids birth date or wedding anniversary.

This is my opinion, so take it as that...

I think it's a pain in the arse when I have people PM me to ask that question...or worse, if I forget for whatever reason to list it in the sale thread, they ask in the thread.

I know it's important to most all, but the few obsessive people drive me nuts.

I always show a picture of the card. I believe in disclosing as much information as possible so that the buyer can make an informed decision and I know I like knowing as much as possible when I am on the buying side.

That said I never particularly cared for the date / year ... I just like knowing that it comes with the full set of papers.

I would always show the card and I agree with Ken, so I'd vote for "or not." :thumbdn:

Im one of the ones who wants to know the date on them. For me I just want to know if its pre Idaho Made stamp or LBS.

I think the DOB is good to know, especially for us CRK buyers. Though its nice, I am never looking for certain BD's. To me, and maybe its Just Me......What I think should be Mandatory in the Exchange Threads is ........... drum roll............
Pictures......!!!. For me , NO PICS = NO SALE. If your too lazy to take pics and post them, then I am not going to spend my hard earned $$ on anything your selling. I Hate when I see, Email me for pics......!!!

Me, as far as sebenzas go, my big thing is Lock-Up %. Nearly every CRK that is sold on the forums and the bay, I look at. So many times I ask what the lock-up % is and they have no clue. Just last week I asked a guy, he got all nasty with me when I said I only buy them in the 50% range, not ones when its 95% and touching the other scale he sent several nasty messages through ebay stating I am a showoff buying CRK as there are better knives and yada yada yada. I did not even reply as he was not getting a sale from me after that, even if it was at the golden 50% lock-up.

Another large regular that sold recently had its blade changed. When it was on sale earlier, it had 50% lock-up. When it was recently listed, the lockup was the " traditional early CRK 10% lock-up "..... Which made me laugh.....When I asked about lock-up %, I got no reply and the knife was instantly dropped to $350 and was sold. Was a large regular UG too. I see its for sale on another forum now. Just gotta watch for shady business....!!!

So to me, there is lots more to worry about than the DOB......lol. But for those its important too, it would be nice.
