D2 extreme tang

Hi guys
I have seen some failures on USMC kabar here.
I like this knife, and wonder if the d2 extreme version, has different tang by standard version or not?
Also, because they use D2 steel for a 7“ blade, will it brittle or not?

The tang on the d2, same as the 1221, are both stronger, wider, and thicker than those of their carbon cousins. The only weak spot is the point. The tang should be fine. Kabar is a fine company. If I remember correctly, the tang is 3/4 of the blades width, and same thickness. You should just call and ask them.

Same width up to end? Or same as Mora knives blades?

All the way up to the end. Broke the pommel off my 1221, and saw its tang for myself years ago. Super glue worked very well to keep the handle in place.
