D2 Folders?

Hi all, first posting, long time lurking.

I was looking to get the BM 806D2, but unfortunately they are out of production and the ones that do pop up on ebay tend to be going for around $300, so I need some advice on other D2 blades. I know that the BM 710 in D2 is an excellent blade; however, I don't particularly like the fact that it only has thumb studs as opposed to a hole or a flipper. Does anyone know of any D2 folders that have either a thumb hole or flipper for less than $200?

You could probably pick up a cuda maxx off e-bay or in an online store for well below 200. Granted it is a lot larger than what you're probably looking for though. The benchmade stryker is now also in D2, but it only has thumb studs I believe.

Cabela's BM Griptilians are D2. They have thumb studs though. However for the price, you get a heck of a knife . . . .

Not being certain of your level of experience with Benchmade, I'll make some assumptions. If I'm wrong, I apologize.

Try the 710 anyway. The Axis lock is phenomenal! It is second nature for me to simply thumb the axis lock and flick the knife open. I have several non-Axis folder by the Ais folders get 97% of the EDC time.

Yeah I would get the 710. Just thumb back the axis, flip and it is open, whatcould be easier. My only complaint about the 710 is that it's blade is almost 4" and you can run afoul the locals in some areas out west (mine included). Steven

Yeah, I actually went down to the local knife shop today and got a chance to handle the 710. After that experience I'm definately going to be purchasing one. Most of my other knives have an opening hole, and the ones that do have thumb studs aren't the easiest to open; however, I did find that the 710 not only fit very well in my hand, but was able to open and close it just as easily as my knives with a thumb hole. Thanks for all of the advice guys.

Try the 960 they also come in D2 and they are slick smooth really well put together folders.
