Which Mini-grip would you buy? Which steel is better?
Help me make a decision.

I'll let you know when my M2 Mini Grip arrives in June. I have a D2 Mini from Cabela's that I like very much. The only M2 knife I have right now is a 710HS, and that is an outstanding blade. I expect as much from my Ritter.

I got my brother the D2 and bought the M2 for myself :D

Does that answer your question?

I currently have an S30V Ritter Mini-grip and I will have my M2 in June. I know that isn't what you asked. This will be the only knife that I have that has M2.

M2 hands down. Tougher, harder, sharper and only marginally more prone to rust.

Seeing M2 blades with Rockwell grades up to 64, I was highly impressed but wondering how prone it would be to rust. I've heard knifemakers strongly urge not to get it without a coating.
It's not really a stainless anymore, right? More like gone over the edge into the middle ground between SS and carbon - is that so?
thanks,
t.

I have a Benchmade Nimravus mini in M2 and the small version of the original AFCK in M2. Both are extremly sharp. Just don't let them get dull because it does take some doing to bring a dull edge back to very sharp with M2. :D

Thanks for all the help.
I guess I'll be sticking with the Ritter mini-grip in M2. Instead of the Cabelas mini-grip in D2. I was wondering if the M2 version would be worth the wait and from what it looks like the experts say yes.
Darn, that mean I gotta wait:(
